Plato

Did Plato believe forms actually existed, or are they more concepts than actual things? Did Plato believe forms could actually be achieved in reality? Why did Plato place such importance upon music and gymnastics? These two things are pretty unrelated, and I'm not sure why Plato concluded that these are what the ideal man needs. If Plato believed the ideal city would crumble, why does he believe it is ideal?
